Eric’s 71 Duster 

Next Project in the shop. I had checked Eric’s Duster out in the fall as it had some burnt wires and would not start. When  got there and found wiring burnt and a HUGE Mess. Did some creative wiring and got it started to at least get it in his garage for the winter. Discussion was to fully upgrade the wiring. Recommended the A Body – American Autowire kit. Eric called and thought that would be best and obtained the kit over winter. 

Now spring is here and I had my Trailer empty, I was able to arrange pickup of the Duster and bring it to my shop. The next day I started working on the project. 

First day I was able to remove the Old harness (Not carefully as it was in very bad shape). Then I mounted the Bulkhead connector and set the interior harness to the side. I decided to tackle the Front end Wiring first. Once I had that done, I went and ran the rear lighting harness and wired in all the lights. Done for one day. 

The following day I tackled the Engine harness, New Starter cable, New Battery Clamps, Main Circuit Fuse and cleaned up and old wiring. Taped everything and found the Neutral Safety switch connector to be very brittle and would not stay in place. I will need to get a new one. Another Day finished.
